Terms of service
These terms explain how this website, the newsletter and my coaching services work. They're written to be read, not skimmed past. If anything is unclear, ask me before you book.
1. Who I am
This website and the services on it are provided by Zuzanna Zuber, a coach registered in Portugal.
- Tax number (NIF): 329314904
- Address: Lagos, Portugal
- Email: contact@zuzazuber.com
In these terms, "I", "me" and "my" mean me, Zuza Zuber. "You" means the person using this website or working with me. For team coaching, "the client" means the company that books and pays.
2. What these terms cover
These terms apply to:
- using this website, including the notes (blog);
- the newsletter;
- the free discovery call;
- 1:1 coaching;
- group coaching for teams.
Before any paid coaching starts, you'll receive a written proposal or agreement with the scope, dates and price. If that document says something different from these terms, the document wins.
3. Using this website
Everything on this website, including the text, notes, frameworks and images, is my work unless stated otherwise. You're welcome to read it, share links to it and quote short parts with credit. Please don't copy, republish or sell it without asking me first.
What I write here is general information and my own view. It isn't personal advice, and it doesn't replace coaching, therapy, or medical, legal or financial advice.
Links to other websites are there because I think they're useful. I don't control those sites and I'm not responsible for their content.
4. What coaching is, and what it isn't
Coaching is a partnership. I ask questions, challenge you, and offer tools, including body-based ones. You do the thinking, make the decisions and take the action.
Coaching is not therapy, counselling or medical treatment. It doesn't diagnose or treat any mental or physical health condition. If you're dealing with something that needs a therapist or a doctor, I'll tell you, and I'll point you to someone who can help. You stay responsible for your own health and wellbeing, and for the decisions you make during and after coaching.
I can't promise specific results. What changes depends on you, your situation and what you do between sessions.
I follow the ICF (International Coaching Federation) Code of Ethics.
5. The free discovery call
The discovery call is 45 minutes, free, and doesn't commit you to anything. We talk about where you are, what you want and what's in the way. If we're a fit, I'll tell you how we could work together and what it costs. You decide afterwards.
6. Booking and payment
- Agreement: coaching starts once you've confirmed the written proposal or agreement.
- Price: the price is set out in your proposal. Prices include or exclude VAT as stated on it.
- Payment: payment is made in full before the first session, by transfer to the bank or cryptocurrency account, unless agreed otherwise in the Coaching Agreement.
- Invoices: I issue an invoice for every payment. For company-paid coaching, tell me the company details before the first invoice.
- Late payment: if a payment is late, I may pause sessions until it's settled. I'll always tell you first.
7. Sessions, rescheduling and missed sessions
- Sessions take place online unless we agree otherwise. You need a quiet, private space and a stable connection.
- You can reschedule a session for free with at least 24 hours notice.
- A session cancelled with less notice, or missed without notice, counts as used.
- If I need to reschedule, I'll give you as much notice as I can and we'll find a new time. You never lose a session because of me.
- Unused sessions expire 4 weeks after the planned programme end date unless we agree otherwise in writing.
- Messenger support runs Monday to Friday. I reply within 24h. It's for reflections and quick questions, not emergencies.
8. Group coaching for teams
- The company that books the programme is the client. The people taking part are the participants.
- The proposal sets out the number of participants (up to 8 per group), the length of the programme and the price.
- If a participant leaves the company or the programme, the company can name a replacement before the 3rd session. The price stays the same.
- What participants share in sessions stays in the group. I don't report on individuals to the company. If the company wants feedback, I share only themes the group has agreed to share.
- Rescheduling a group session needs at least 48 hours notice from the company contact.
9. Confidentiality
What you tell me stays between us. I won't share it with anyone, including your employer when the company pays, without your permission.
There are a few exceptions, in line with the ICF Code of Ethics:
- if the law requires me to disclose something;
- if there's a serious risk of harm to you or someone else;
- if you've given me written permission.
I may discuss coaching situations with a supervisor or mentor coach for my own professional development. If I do, I'll never share anything that could identify you.
Session notes are kept securely and only for as long as described in the privacy policy.
10. Your right to cancel (consumers)
If you book coaching as a private person (a consumer), EU and Portuguese consumer law gives you 14 days to cancel a contract made online, without giving a reason. The 14 days start on the day we confirm the agreement.
If you ask for coaching to start within those 14 days and then cancel, you pay only for the sessions that have already happened. You'll get the rest of your payment back within 14 days of telling me.
To cancel, email me at contact@zuzazuber.com saying you want to cancel. A short message is enough.
This right doesn't apply when a company books coaching for its own team or its leaders. In that case the cancellation terms in the proposal apply.
11. Ending coaching early
After the 14-day period, you can still stop coaching at any time by telling me in writing.
I can end the coaching if continuing would go against the ICF Code of Ethics, or if I believe another professional would serve you better. If I do, I'll refund any sessions you've paid for and not used.
12. Liability
I put full care and attention into my work. I'm responsible for doing that, not for the results of the decisions you make.
Nothing in these terms limits my liability where the law doesn't allow it to be limited, including for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or your rights as a consumer under Portuguese law. Apart from that, my total liability for any claim connected to the coaching is limited to the amount you paid for it.
I'm not liable for problems caused by things outside my control, such as internet or platform outages.
13. Newsletter
You can sign up for my weekly newsletter on this website. I use MailerLite to send it. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can leave at any time. Signing up for the newsletter doesn't sign you up for anything else, and contacting me about team coaching doesn't sign you up for the newsletter.
14. Privacy
How I collect, use and protect your personal data is explained in the privacy policy.
15. Complaints
If something isn't right, tell me first at contact@zuzazuber.com. I'll reply within 3 working days and do my best to fix it.
You can also use the electronic complaints book (Livro de Reclamações) at www.livroreclamacoes.pt.
16. Applicable law
These terms are governed by Portuguese law. If you're a consumer, you also keep any protection the law of your country of residence gives you. Disputes go to the courts of Lagos, Portugal, unless consumer law gives you the right to go to your local courts.
17. Changes to these terms
I may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version. Changes don't affect a coaching agreement you've already confirmed, unless we both agree in writing.
